From what it sounds like, the comparison to LOTR is very apt scope-wise, and so I'll likely read the book the same way - a chapter or two here and there until the book grips me and I finish it in a day or two.Katie Hart - Pinterest Managerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14892763965326103296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9896011.post-88477628211740154192008-02-19T09:27:00.000-07:002008-02-19T09:27:00.000-07:00Waving back to you, Shannon!I appreciated your com...Waving back to you, Shannon!

I appreciated your comments, Rebecca, and it is kind of funny that our reactions were so similar!

Kait, good to see you! And you give me hope to finish. I got another 50 pages down last night.

Oh-oh Chris. The Book of Joby is on my Amazon list. Do I still want it?

Melissa, I understand what you're saying. I don't DISlike the book for sure. I'm just not wild about it, and when I'm crazy busy, a book like that tends to sit a lot waiting for me to get back.

Brandon, I saw that on your blog and chuckled. It's why they can't please all of us, eh?Valerie Comerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06674882711125123089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9896011.post-4671610688880088112008-02-18T21:38:00.000-07:002008-02-18T21:38:00.000-07:00Interestingly, I loved the cover art. I am a little over half through the book and want to finish it though it is hard for me to keep going because there are other books that I'd rather read simply due to personal taste.

On the whole the writing is good. I like the premise but I miss my romance fix that I get from the fantasies and alot of the other types of books I read.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. The new background came from Pyzam.com and I tweaked it to have the dual sidebars. It did take me a whole day to find and choose a design and the info on how to tweak the sidebar setup.

It definitely takes time to change things around and I still have to adjust old posts so the text shows on the new background.

MelissaAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08885416877999731273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9896011.post-83000670361284576982008-02-18T20:34:00.000-07:002008-02-18T20:34:00.000-07:00I just read The Book of Joby. It started out terrific but after 600 some odd pages I could barely take it.

Still, it's great that the tour included a sci fi book.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18119718461267453386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9896011.post-78635900880826696912008-02-18T19:34:00.000-07:002008-02-18T19:34:00.000-07:00You're absolutely right - if it hadn't been for th...You're absolutely right - if it hadn't been for the tour, I wouldn't have continued to read, and been invested then. It's kind of sad, actually! I took it out of the bag, saw the cover, groaned, and set it aside for a very long time. Then I read the first page of the prologue. And set it aside for another long time. I did eventually finish it, though. I'd love to hear what you think of the ending!
